El Monterey Sauce
INGREDIENTS
4 cups Flour
1 cup Powdered Mild or Hot Chili Powder ( I use 1/4 cup depending on how hot you want it)
1 Tbsp Salt
2 Tsp. Garlic Powder
2 Tsp. Powdered Oregano
1/2 Tsp Powdered Cumin
1 Qt. water
Method
- Using 1/2 cup of powder place in a large saucepan
- Using a small portion of the water and mix into the powder making a thick paste
- Slowly add the rest of the water trying to get all lumps smoothed out
- Cook until sauce thickens to a consistency that can be poured over enchiladas
